How to play
Each puzzle is one mystery year between 1960 and 2025. Every clue is something that happened in that year. You get six guesses, and each wrong guess unlocks another clue.
The answer is 3 to 5 years before 2010, so it's between 2005 and 2007.
After each guess, the coloured label tells you how close you were:
- Scorching within 2 years
- Warm 3 to 5 years
- Cool 6 to 15 years
- Cold more than 15
There are six editions, each with its own puzzle every day. New years arrive at midnight.

Privacy
You can play without an account: your guesses, stats and streaks are then saved only in this browser, on this device. If you sign in, we store your email address, your display name and your game progress so they sync across your devices. We never sell or share them, and you can ask us to delete your account at any time.
We count visits with privacy-friendly analytics that use no cookies and do not track you across other sites. If we add advertising in future, this page will say so first and you will be asked before any ad cookies are used.
